Our list of current initiatives includes the following items:

Develop and maintain a robust, ongoing collaborative relationship with D3 Council members and staff
Champion AXIS as a community and neighborhood
Champion support for key initiatives:
Clean - reduction in trash and blight
Safe - safety – real and perceived
Champion and support the concept that St. John and Santa Clara Streets are ‘Gateways’ to and from our Downtown, SAP, Little Italy San Jose, and ‘The Alameda’ businesses and residential neighborhoods
Advocate for collaboration with D6 on these concepts
Represent and advocate for attention to AXIS Neighborhood issues and initiatives

Champion a Clean and Safe AXIS Neighborhood into and throughout the downtown core
Support local neighborhood and downtown core Vibrancy initiatives
Collaboration on common goals and interests, including the St. John St ‘Gateway’, Guadalupe River Park / Arena Green / East Confluence vibrancy, utilization, and clean and safe goals
Building Watch
Review internal and external building incidents and propose feasible operational and process changes
Insure AXI S neighborhood receives a fair share of efforts mitigating the trash, blight, unhealthy/unsanitary conditions, undesirable behavior, and crime by-products of problematic encampments
Maintain open communication and a supportive and positive relationship with the SJPD area Division Captain, Lieutenant, and beat officers

Improve response to neighborhood call needs
Demonstrate interest in services that benefit all of San Jose
Develop and maintain an understanding with Knight as to our interests and goals
Monitor and offer support to funding opportunities that benefit the AXIS neighborhood
Guadalupe River Park Conservancy and Work Group
Provide support to Conservancy efforts to improve the cleanliness and safety, and utilization of the GRP
Leverage relationships and opportunities with workgroup participants with respect to all relative AXIS NAC goals and initiatives
Collaboration within the interests of a vibrant downtown
Carabiner Group
Champion recognition of AXIS NWC as a collaborative organization
Interaction with individuals and organizations interested in a vibrant San Jose Downtown
PATH, Housing/Homeless Concerns
Maintain relationships – demonstrating empathy and supporting efforts ensuring those genuinely in need have access to available services
